OK for some reason my GPS signal dosent start soon and it boots. I have manually put

sudo gpsd /dev/ttyUSB0 -F /var/run/gpsd.sock

To start the signal or else it won't pick up. My map show just fine.

Anyway to get it to start right when the pi starts? Also I already have this setting as well

sudo nano /etc/default/gpsd

START_DAEMON="true"
# Use USB hotplugging to add new USB devices automatically to the daemon
USBAUTO="true"
# Devices gpsd should collect to at boot time.
# They need to be read/writeable, either by user gpsd or the group dialout.
DEVICES="/dev/ttyUSB0"
# Other options you want to pass to gpsd
GPSD_OPTIONS="/dev/ttyUSB0"
GPSD_SOCKET=”/var/run/gpsd.sock”

I know this is late but it may help someone else.

Try this

sudo systemctl enable gpsd
sudo systemctl disable gpsd

Then

systemctl is-enabled --quiet gpsd && echo "Enabled" || echo "Disabled"

Then

sudo systemctl unmask gpsd

I had the same issue and after entering the above it worked fine.

I am using UART instead of USB but it should work the same.
