pleas be free to improve my makefile.

it was only a copy and paste from different sites on the net, because I need this test to see if there is really the binary provided in the image that is not up to date.

on my side the compilation process runns through without errors (after determinig all the compiler flags. :-) )
The carpc-controlle could be started the same way as the precompiled one.

I also compiled a version of the bcm2... libs like it was mentioned in the How-To thread (i think it was 1.44) and enabled Device Tree support in raspi-config because it was mentiond that is is needed if you are on RPI2

However with my own compiled version I see that the controller really seems to work with interrups (0-3% cpu usage) and also the rotary encoders are working now.
Also at the radio side I see that a frequenzy is shown in xbmc but nothing else.
I don't know if its working at the moment, I can't change the frequency, or anything else.

in the gpio... file it is mentioned that I need to start an udp server for the communication with the radio modul.
I think that the carpc-controller is the server, isn't it?

regards
Mario

Yes!

I've also luck to get my radio working.

the problem was in /boot/config.txt

Code:
# Uncomment some or all of these to enable the optional hardware interfaces
dtparam=i2c_arm=on
dtparam=i2s=on
dtparam=spi=on

and after that I checked if all necessary modules are loaded

Code:
sudo modprobe snd-bcm2835
sudo modprobe i2c-bcm2708
sudo modprobe i2c-dev

Now radio is tuning and it seems to work with the earspeaker connected to the radio module.
And I mean also audio (radio) is comming only from the earspeaker that also are used as antenna. :-(

I hope that this behaviour is not normal, because I don't went to handle differen audio inputs to the amplifier.

Can anyone confirm that on an original image the radio is redirectiong auido to the raspberry pi?

regards
Mario

Hey Guys,

Newby here. I have been at it for a while but no luck with the rotary encoders, radio module, navit etcetera. I have a rpi2 with PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie)".

Kodi starts up nicely but I can't get the controller to bow to my wishes. Did anyone have more luck with a similar setup?

I have been fighting with carpc-controller for a while and noticed that xbmcclient.h is missing. No more errors when I added this to src. But it comes up with: printf("Unable to read Si4703!\n");
I guess I'll have to start looking at my pins config some more. Also the rotary controllers are still doing nothing.

[email protected]:~/Downloads/carpc-controller-master $ sudo make
src/xbmcclient_if.cpp
src/event-server.cpp
src/events.cpp
src/radio.cpp
src/main.cpp
src/commands.cpp
carpc-controller

BUT:

[email protected]:~/Downloads/carpc-controller-master $ sudo ./carpc-controller io_config
Unable to read Si4703!

After:

sudo modprobe snd-bcm2835
sudo modprobe i2c-bcm2708
sudo modprobe i2c-dev

and:

[email protected]:~/Downloads/carpc-controller-master $ sudo ./carpc-controller io_config

I got the radio module crackling for the first time. But the radio plugin in kodi is not giving me anything. How do I check why that is?

Hello,
I try to make carpc-controller from github
I put the xbmcclient.h (link is wrong) in inc folder
[email protected]:~/Documents/carpc-controller-master $ sudo make
src/xbmcclient_if.cpp
src/event-server.cpp
src/events.cpp
src/radio.cpp
src/commands.cpp
src/main.cpp
carpc-controller

but ./carpc-controller io_config doesn't work

previous version of the files on github worked fine with si4703 and two KY-040

If somebody have a idea or if it works for you (sorry for my english...)
niko
