Hi everyone,

after battling a bit with the software, I'm almost ready to move with the radio for some bench test (boxing and putting everything in the car will take time).

Does anyone have a clear wiring scheme for the Raspi+Radio.

I'm pretty confident with soldering but I'm not an electonics expert, so I'm not sure I'm reading correctly the original wiring scheme.

For testing purpose I'd like to connect just the radio card (I have the one listed in the main website) and use the software controls which, I assume, will work.

Any help would be lovely

Thanks

It's a bit hard to see, but wiring seems to be ok. Don't forget to attach a wire to the audio-out jack (headphone or just a wire with a 3,5mm-plug). Without it you won't be able to receive a signal, because it is used as antenna. The wire should be at least 90cm / 3ft. long.

I have a 25' aux cord iv been using. Will the wiring work without the rotary encoders?
Things I've tried to dix this.
~Iv done apt-get update/install
~Made sure I2C is enabled. Ran I2Cdetect and it came back with nothing being connected.

Guess I need to get myself a volt meter and see if im actually getting power at the SI470x

25" is too short! As i wrote: min. 90cm = approx. 35"!

Edit: you can also use a single wire and connect it to the ground-pin of the 3,5mm audio jack if you have no other cord at hand.

You don't know much about antennas, right?
Ok, to be more precise: The antenna should be 95cm long for the normally used FM frequency range (88 MHz - 108 MHz). 90cm should do it, 100cm will work also. But a 7m-antenna is a bit out of range …

Oh ok, yes this whole project is a learning experience for me. Iv switched out the aux cords and im still not getting anything. Iv used this aux cord before as antenna with no issues, and iv alsoed tested voltage at the si470x and I am getting voltage on the board. So now im out of ideas.

Im going back to the thread where I found the img to see if im able to get any help there from the developer.
