Hello schnibli
and dear Team

I Think this whole Car PC by Raspberry Pi is one of the coolest things you can do with the device.

I Bought a bananaPi just to check out the abilitys of it and it really is a lot stronger than the raspi. So I'm going to try to install your system on it and get everythng working.

Back to the topic...
Bananapi has a build in Microphone so i asked myself if it is possible to Connect the Android Phone via Bluetooth and communicate over that. I Know how to stream music to the device but i do'nt know how to set it as Headset and have no single plan how to use this build in Microphone.

Can anyone Help us Please ? I Really want to install such device in my car.

Regards from Germany ;)

EDIT:
BananaPi Doesn't boot after installation guess i'll have to use Raspi but anyway... How do i set up a Headset and would it be possible to add Dialer App!?

Thanks :)

I think, the major problem will be echo effect. Our friend will be able to hear itself. That's why all Handset devices cost a lot of money.

Bluez (the bluetooth-stack in linux) removed the dialing functionallity when they moved to 5.x, so you won't be able to dial (or even have an answer-button for that matter) unfortunately. Though there are other projects, that I've looked into, that add this feature, though none of them seems to work -.-

I think the best way to go is tethered (usb-cable) and a custom app running on the phone. This is at least what I'll be doing for notications and such.

This will of course be much easier to fix once Google opens up Google Auto so I can make a "real" phone-frontend for Kodi :D

I actually got voice-dialing working today :D
one have to turn on HFP in bluez and install ofono (ofono havn't worked for be previously)
some of these might work, depending on how bluez is setup:

(Now to write a GUI for this >.< )
