If anyone is planning to integrate OBD, take a look to this project:

There is also an old XBMC project http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmcobd2/. It does not look like it is active at the moment.

I plan on adding this in the future as soon as everyday LIFE gets out of the way...
I have looked at both of these packages along with obdgpslogger and others.

I currently have an ELM USB device installed and connected just have to find the time.

Will keep everyone posted...

Has any progress been made on this? I have a bluetooth OBD connector which I use my phone to display engine displays but it would be awesome to integrate this into KODI, I have browsed the official KODI addons but haven't found anything worth while.

Andrei mentions in one of his tutorials that he is using a bluetooth OBD but doesn't say how it interfaces with KODI

That looks like a good place to start, it looks like it uses a serial connection and I think this might be usable with a bit of tweaking. Although it might not be compatible with Kodi as it was designed for xbmc.

I did see that, although the forums suggest that it's still the first release and it's very buggy.

That's kinda cool, although that's one bendy finger lol. Might be an idea to have a look over at carberry as they may have that released.
