Im been trying to get the carpc-controller to work in my RPI2 but there is a big problem, maby someone can help me so the carpc-controller can start work.

To get the controller to work if you don't have the FM Radio, edit the GPIO_Base in RPI_gpio.h file, from 0x202 to 0x3F2. Then they work to controll the volume and switch music in kodi.

But if the radio is connected and i2c is activated in the boot.txt the carpc-controller starts the radio but the communication with kodi and the rotary encoders stop working.

I don't yet know why maby it's the i2c wrapper that spooks inside the carpc-controller or there something else that has been change in RPI2 that needs to be updated in the carpc-controller.

Best Regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I have remade carpc-controller to use WiringPI library. Now it should work on both RPI1 and RPI2. This is available in the latest update.
You can view the source code on my git page(https://github.com/bboyandru).
Regarding the second issue I don't understand what file are you referring to (boot.txt).
On my setup encoders and radio are working.

I would agree about the new image for the RPi2

That's the update, not an image. We are talking about an img file with everything pre-setup.

Hi,

I start a new project with RPi2. All Ok but rotary ancoder don't work. Radio module start, touch working but rotary encoder don't work. I use schematic from official page to connect encoder and radio. I change pin in gpio_description but nothing happend. I think carpc-controler ignore settings from gpio-description because if set unified_volume:10 volume to 10 radio module always start from 1. This is my config

# Raspberry PI GPIO XBMC Controller configuration file
# Ip address of the XBMC machine
[ip]:localhost

# Radio volume and XBMC volume are unified
unified_volume:10

# Debouncing settings
click_skip:0
click_hold:500000
encoder_hold:200000

# Left Control
button:19:system_mode_toggle
encoder:sl:2:sr:2:clk:23:dt:21:volume_minus:volume_plus

# Right Control
#encoder:sl:2:sr:2:clk:22:dt:27:radio_seek_down+xbmcbuiltin_PlayerControl(previous):radio_seek_up+xbmcbuiltin_PlayerControl(next)
#button:17:xbmcbuiltin_Fullscreen

And this is my encoder http://www.ebay.com/itm/KY-040-Rotary-E ... D100102%26

can someone help my to recompile carpc-controller because I have problems get it work like it should.

I use it on my rpi2 without rotery encoders at the moment.

the carpc-controller is started kodi mentioned after start that a GPIO module is found but radio do not seem to work.
no interactionin kodi as far as I can see and also the cpu usage is at ~99,9% (maybe I use an old outdated version??)

regards
Mario

ok managed to compile carpc-controller again from sources with a litte makefile that seems to create no errors anymore.

Code:
CC=g++
CFLAGS=-I. -lstdc++ -lpthread -lrt -lwiringPi
DEPS = *.h
OBJ = *.o

%.o: %.c $(DEPS)
        $(CC) -c -o $@ $< $(CFLAGS)

carpc-controller: $(OBJ)
        gcc -o $@ $^ $(CFLAGS)

after using this on my rpi 2 I saw that a test encoder is working and the frequency is displayed in the radio plugin. :-)

regards Mario

Hi,
if I use your makefile I have an error on this fonction Radio_FrequencyUpdate.
But it exists....

The folder used is https://github.com/bboyandru).

I supposed that the si4703.cpp must be compiled first.
