Hello everybody,
I'm still trying to configure my eGalax Touchscreen.. but I can't get it to calibrate properly.
My resolution is 1024 x 600, so I changed it in the config.txt. I set the proper modes, enabled the frame buffer and actually it scales perfectly. Then, I changed the resoultion in the guisettings.xml and advancedsettings.xml both to 1024 x 600. Now xbmc looks good, too.

I started the calibration plugin and calibrated the touchscreen. It kind of works, but is slightly offset..

Now comes the probable Solution:
I looked at the touchscreen_calibration_log where it says:

Quote:
1280x720
Touch screen calibration plugin
Predefined points:
25,25
1255,25
1255,695
25,695

Obtained points:
86,168
1963,164
1937,1907
72,1902

case=1
calib_x_d=31;calib_x_fact=0.655301012254;calib_y_d=39;calib_y_fact=0.3863898500$

It states a resolution of 1280 x 720, but the screen is 1024 x 600, and I set it everywhere i could.
Thats why the predefined Points are wrong, and the calibration is slightly off.

Is it possible to change that resolution for the calibration somewhere ?

Thanks in advance
Jannik

Okay so I looked at the calibration plugin files and I found the python code for the calibration.
It had the resolution of 1280x720 hardcoded... which caused a wrong calibration.

So I changed these values to 1024x600 and started the calibration plugin again.
Now, the calibration plugin window does NOT cover the whole screen.. which again produces wrong calibration data.

I finally tried the calibration again,( the windows was still too small), but this time I simply pressed outside of the window, where I guessed the points are supposed to be.

This is the best result i got so far, but it is not perfect.
So my question is still valid: What do I need to do, to calibrate the screen right (and therefore make the calibration plugin fullscreen) ?

where did you go and how did you change the hard code resolution for the touch calabration? because this is likely the problem most of us are having

I did the same - pressed the points that I thought were right, then I adjusted the calibration file and all worked fine. I have a 800x480 touch screen. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

You can find the plugin python script here:

.xbmc/addons/plugin.program.touchCalibration/addon.py
